In the wake of its sensational Milan Fashion Week show last year, featuring iconic figures like Naomi Campbell and Future within a diverse cast, Boss is poised to return to the Italian fashion capital with a groundbreaking statement. The anticipation surrounding Boss's coed fall 2023 collection is palpable, as sustainability takes center stage.
Breaking the news, Boss announced that their show will introduce a limited-edition capsule collection, aptly named "The Change." This collection is a testament to the brand's unwavering commitment to sustainability and will feature outerwear pieces meticulously crafted from HeiQ's revolutionary HeiQ AeoniQ fabric.
What sets this fabric apart is its composition, deliberately avoiding the use of oil-based yarns like polyester and nylon. Instead, it harnesses the power of high-tech, plant-based materials combined with bio-based waterproof membranes and the finest Swiss Pima cotton. The result is a three-layer textile masterpiece, showcased through designs such as a men's double-breasted trenchcoat with a detachable belt, also available in a women's iteration. A third design in this groundbreaking collection is a genderless bomber jacket, offering both style and sustainability. The bomber jacket ingeniously combines the HeiQ AeoniQ fabric with padding primarily crafted from recycled silk. Each piece comes with a unique serial number and a QR code, unlocking valuable insights into Boss's "The Change" initiative and its enduring partnership with HeiQ AeoniQ, an alliance that first took shape in 2022.
This partnership represents a significant stride in Boss's long-term commitment to sustainability, aligning with its ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2030. Prior collaborations have yielded noteworthy results, including a polo shirt donned by Boss's brand ambassador and tennis sensation Matteo Berrettini at the Australian Open early in 2023. The brand also introduced a collection of collarless polo shirts at the Boss Open in Stuttgart, Germany, last June. Notably, Boss has embraced the "see now, buy now" format for several seasons, taking its collections to diverse destinations, from Dubai to Miami. Yet, it consistently chooses Milan's September fashion week as the stage to unveil its fall lineups, emphasizing the city's pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable fashion.
