Chanel presents new versions of its most iconic watches (and impossible constructions) at Watches & Wonders 2024.
What's new from Chanel at Watches & Wonders 2024? Well, there's a lot to talk about. For this year's edition, the maison's high watchmaking workshops present the most extreme and radical versions of their most iconic watches. Here, watchmaking expertise is combined with high fashion savoir-faire.
Just as Fashion Weeks are crucial for the fashion industry, Watches & Wonders is the main event in the world of watchmaking. Every year, the most prestigious manufactures in the world present their new models alongside new promises from the industry. But as novel and refreshing as some brands may be, Chanel is one of those that always delivers when it comes to spectacle and innovation. There's no other way to put it, Chanel's new watch collection at Watches & Wonders 2024 is their boldest offering to date, and we have the Watchmaking Creation Studio to thank for it. This year, in addition to the most complicated and impossible pieces, we saw special and ultra-limited editions of their regular wristwatch models... and they are worth a look.

Fashion and watchmaking history combine in the Pink Edition
Starting with Chanel's novelties at Watches & Wonders 2024, we have the pink editions. Inspired by one of the most iconic accent colors in the maison's collections, these take the J12 and Boyfriend models to new heights. Opening this melon, we have the X-Ray models of both pieces, built with pink sapphire cases (and matching bracelet for the J12). Gold and precious stones are added to the mix. Complementing this lineup, we also have a white ceramic J12 with a beige gold bezel set with pink sapphires matching the indicators. For the more "conventional" J12, a beige gold case hides a skeleton mechanism.
Chanel's novelties at Watches & Wonders 2024: J12 Diamond Tourbillon Caliber 5
The ceramic J12 watch has always been a significant muse for the creative studio of its watch division. And for this edition of Watches & Wonders, they present a new reinterpretation of the Diamond Tourbillon in matte black ceramic and white ceramic. On the outside, things remain faithful to the classic model (except for the baguette-textured bezel). Inside, we have the iconic Tourbillon crowned by a single diamond and an openwork mechanism following the chromatic range of the model.
